Dedicated to the memory of Elva Blacker

This site is a tribute to Sgt Elva Blacker. Elva was an MT driver in the WAAF during WW2 and was stationed primarily at Biggin Hill.

As an artist, Elva used her spare time to paint the portraits of over 1000 pilots and ground crew, creating a lasting and unrivaled record of life at the worlds most famous fighter station.  These paintings are now owned by the RAF Museum and can be viewed in their online collections.

After her demobbing, Elva arranged many exhibitions of her work, often donating sale proceeds to the RABF.

I wish to honor her life and work and over time raise money in her name.
